If I could give advise anyone in the same situation I was in a couple of months ago before I bought the tablet, I would advise that they go smaller rather than bigger, and they pick a tablet that can turn on/off touch sensing. I can remap the buttons to do whatever functions I want (zoom, undo, etc.), the pen requires no charge, you can turn on/off touch sensing (useful if you want to rest your hand on the tablet while you draw), and it's easily transportable. I also didn't want to get a tablet that was bigger than the span of my notebook keyboard, so I went with the small.

Just to note, these tablets have support for Windows and Mac OSX too. I chose the Wacom Intuos (formerly Wacom Bamboo) because of its functionality with Linux.
